Over time, your wood burner and flue or fireplace and chimney can become damaged.

Signs of damage to your fireplace or chimney could be:

  • Cracks in your firebox

  • Cracked and broken bricks and baffle

  • Loose or missing fire door seals

  • Damaged or missing cowling /chimney top

  • Split seams and emission leaks in your flue/chimney

  • Water leaks in and around your chimney

  • Noisy cowling/chimney top

  • Broken glass in your fireplace door

Does your fire have code of compliance from the council?

Retrospective code of compliance is not likely to be issued especially for fires older than 2005. We can inspect the installation of the fire and provide a report on its current condition, whether it meets current standards and recommend remedial work if necessary.
